My Key Issues
Government Overreach
Adults are smart enough to make the best decisions in their own and their family members' lives. Whenever possible, if the question is letting the government choose for the people, or letting them choose for themselves, it will always be letting people choose for themselves. A recent example of this is Ohio Issue 2 where Ohioans voted to legalize marijuana. Ohio politicians responded with Senate Bill 56 that highly limits Issue 2; they essentially told Ohioans we know what's better for you.
Government Ethics
It is far too often we hear about projects after they have been approved. Projects the community is against get pushed through quickly, while projects the community demands are delayed or handicapped. Data Centers are a hot topic, and for good reason. Did you know Ohio is the 6th state with the most data centers? This happened without Ohioans realizing it and without their concerns being addressed. Medical Freedom and Body Autonomy
The individual should have final say on the treatments they choose to receive or choose not to receive. There are also too many instances of doctors unable to prescribe certain treatments! Ranked Choice Voting
I fully support Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). Instead of allowing municipalities to freely choose their voting mechanism, Ohio has enacted Senate Bill 63 which allows the state to DEFUND any municipality that utilizes RCV. I would push to repeal this bill.
Property Taxes
I support the lowering and even elimination of property taxes. Every decision in life comes with tradeoffs and I will not ignore that and neither should you. State spending must be adjusted for this to be successful for the state and the people. We cannot call this country the Land of the Free if you are forced to pay rent in the form of property taxes.
Education
I am fully supportive of school choice and open enrollment. The parents must have more control over their children's education. School choice allows parents to more easily support the schools that they believe are better and more efficient, schools that actually care about every student.
